Pediatric Dental Assistant - Private Practice

We are a growing pediatric dental practice seeking a dedicated and compassionate Dental Assistant to join our dynamic team. This role is key to delivering high-quality, gentle care to our young patients while maintaining a welcoming, safe, and efficient clinical environment.

Pediatric Dental Assistant
Full-Time or Part-Time | In-Person | $22–$28/hour | ~32 hours/week

Key Responsibilities:

Assist the dentist during exams and procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques
Prepare, disinfect, and organize treatment rooms in accordance with infection control protocols
Take and process dental X-rays using appropriate pediatric imaging techniques
Accurately record medical histories, charting, and vital signs in OpenDental
Support patient flow and help maintain a calm, friendly environment for children and families
Educate patients and caregivers on oral hygiene and post-op care
Sterilize instruments and manage equipment setup following aseptic techniques
Ensure accurate documentation and coding for all procedures

Qualifications & Skills:

Experience in pediatric dentistry (strongly preferred)
Proficiency in OpenDental (highly desirable)
Knowledge of dental anatomy, terminology, and chairside assisting techniques
Familiarity with dental charting and patient education
Ability to take vital signs and communicate effectively with children and parents
Strong understanding of infection control and sterilization procedures
Prior experience in a dental office setting required; pediatric-specific experience is a plus
Positive, reliable, and team-oriented mindset

$22.00 – $28.00/hour, based on experience and qualifications
