We are excited to invite a full-time Dentist to our Health Center located on White Plains Road in the Bronx, NY. This is a unique opportunity to provide exceptional patient care while becoming part of our dedicated team of health professionals.

Founded in 1996, the Bronx Community Health Network (BCHN) is a not-for-profit, community-based organization and Federally Qualified Health Center. Our mission is to ensure that medically underserved and socio-economically challenged residents of the Bronx have access to high-quality, comprehensive healthcare services. We provide a wide range of primary medical, oral, and mental health care, along with related diagnostic, pharmacy, social support, and enabling services.
Role Overview:
As a Dentist at BCHN, you will deliver comprehensive dental care to patients of all ages in accordance with ADA standards. Your responsibilities will include performing routine procedures such as fillings, extractions, root canals, and scaling, as well as more complex treatments to support the overall health of our patients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct routine dental exams, including X-rays, screenings, and assessments of oral health.
- Maintain a roster of scheduled dental patients and manage dental emergencies as needed.
- Prepare patients for treatment using oral sedation or anesthesia.
- Diagnose and treat oral diseases, injuries, and abnormalities.
- Develop and implement personalized treatment plans, including restorative and preventive procedures.
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices and the importance of regular dental visits.
- Maintain compliance with OSHA and BCHN infection control standards.
- Assist in completing insurance and dental forms for patients.
- Participate in the development of patient care policies and standards.
- Perform annual performance appraisals for dental support staff and provide necessary referrals to specialists.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of three years of experience in clinical dentistry.
- Degree from an accredited dental school (DDS or DMD).
- Current New York State dental license (required).
- Commitment to community dental health care.
- DEA Controlled Substances Registration Certificate.
- Experience with Athena Health EMR is preferred.
Skills and Knowledge:
- Up-to-date knowledge of dental technologies and treatments.
- Strong computer skills and ability to maintain organized documentation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team and independently.
Salary: $165,000 - $180,000, commensurate with experience.
