Role Summary:
The Dental Hygienist performs all phases of dental hygiene, following the attending dentists' instructions or patient treatment plans.
Qualifications
Education
- High School Diploma required.
- Completion of a dental hygiene program from an accredited institution.
Licensing and Certification
- State certification in radiology procedures.
- Active registration and Pennsylvania license to practice as a Dental Hygienist.
- Basic Life Support Certification through the American Heart Association.
Conditions of Employment
- COVID-19 Vaccination: Vaccination is required for employment in Jefferson clinical entities or at the University. If unvaccinated, new hires must receive the vaccine before starting employment unless an approved medical or religious exemption is granted.
- Child Protective Services Act Compliance: Due to the nature of contact with children, candidates must complete a Pennsylvania State Police criminal background check, Pennsylvania Department of Welfare child abuse clearance, and FBI fingerprint-based federal records check. Employment cannot commence until all clearances are satisfactorily completed.
