Dental Assistant - Floater (Part-Time/Per Diem)
Location: Downtown Brooklyn Health Care Centers
Shift: 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
Hours: 16 hours/week (Part-Time/Per Diem)
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Pay Range: $20–$24 per hour

We are currently seeking a compassionate and reliable Dental Assistant - Floater to join our team in Downtown Brooklyn. This role supports our dental team in delivering clinical care and ensures seamless daily operations in the dental department.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist dentists with all clinical procedures, including instrument passing, tissue retraction, suctioning, and mixing dental materials (cements, impression, restoration).
- Sterilize instruments, maintain dental equipment, and adhere strictly to infection control protocols.
- Prepare patients for treatment—welcome, seat, drape, and assist with comfort throughout procedures.
- Aid with wheelchair transfers and patient stabilization; respond to medical emergencies as needed (BLS certification required).
- Manage appointment scheduling and maintain accurate dental records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Facilitate oral sedation and antibiotic prophylaxis procedures and maintain prescription records.
- Ensure accurate handling and documentation of dental lab cases.
- Provide clear post-treatment instructions to patients; help clarify dentist orders when needed.
- Oversee dental equipment functionality, perform maintenance checks, and coordinate repairs.
- Keep up-to-date records on radiation exposure, autoclave testing, and consent forms.
- Monitor and manage dental supply inventory; anticipate needs and conserve resources.
- Support medical/nursing staff by taking vital signs and escorting patients when necessary.
- Stay informed through continuing education and professional development.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 1 year of chairside experience as a Dental Assistant.
- Current BLS Certification.
