
Dental Assistant
Job Description
We are a fast-paced, family-focused pediatric and orthodontic dental office looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to become a valued member of our dynamic team. In this role, you’ll be essential to keeping our office running smoothly while ensuring patients receive the highest standard of care.
What You’ll Do:
- Assist the dentist chairside during exams and procedures, handling instruments and materials.
- Sterilize and prepare dental tools and equipment following strict health and safety guidelines.
- Maintain accurate and confidential patient records, including medical histories (HIPAA compliant).
- Take and develop dental X-rays as needed.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene and provide clear post-op care instructions.
- Record vital signs and ensure patient comfort throughout their visit.
- Use medical coding for billing and insurance purposes.
- Support endodontic procedures and apply knowledge of dental anatomy.
What We’re Looking For:
- 2+ years of experience as a Dental Assistant preferred.
- Familiarity with dental software, especially Open Dental, is a plus.
- Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.
- Ability to stay calm and detail-focused in a busy environment.
- A commitment to maintaining patient privacy and following HIPAA standards.
