Dental Assistant - Full-time / Part-time

As a Dental Assistant, you’ll work under direct supervision to support the daily operations of our dental department—contributing to efficient care delivery and learning firsthand what it means to serve in a non-profit community health environment.

What You’ll Do:

As a Dental Assistant Extern, you will:

Support dental team members with day-to-day clinical functions
Assist with dental procedures as needed, within the scope of your externship
Gain knowledge of community-based dental care models
Perform sterilization and prep tasks under supervision
Learn to interact with diverse patient populations in a culturally sensitive manner
Handle additional tasks as assigned

What We’re Looking For:

Requirements:

Enrollment in an accredited Dental Assistant program
High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
Interest in community health and FHCSD’s mission
Ability to work effectively with patients from diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds
Demonstrated respect for diversity and a culturally sensitive approach to care
Strong communication, teamwork, and customer service skills
Ability to maintain patient and organizational confidentiality

Preferred:

Multilingual skills (Spanish, English, or Arabic) are highly desirable but not required
Any licensure required for specific externship assignments will be clearly outlined
