Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA) – Pediatric Dentistry
Location: Philadelphia, PA 19123 Full-Time $30–$34/hr

Responsibilities

Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize instruments following strict infection control protocols
Assist the dentist chairside during a range of pediatric procedures using four-handed dentistry
Take and process dental X-rays while ensuring patient comfort and safety
Perform state-approved expanded functions, including placing fillings/restorations, applying sealants, and completing coronal polishing
Accurately manage and update patient records in the EMR system (HIPAA compliant)
Maintain a clean, organized, and sterile clinical environment
Support front office tasks as needed, including insurance coordination and communication with parents

Requirements

Reliability is essential—we need someone our team and patients can depend on
Pediatric dental experience preferred
Strong multitasking skills and the ability to stay organized in a busy setting
Excellent attention to detail and communication skills
Bilingual candidates encouraged to apply
Familiarity with dental software (e.g., Dentrix, Open Dental) is a plus
