Lead Dental Assistant Wanted for Private PPO Dental Office
We are a private PPO dental office seeking a dedicated and professional Lead Dental Assistant who excels in both clinical and administrative tasks. As a key team member, you will ensure the smooth operation of our dental practice while providing top-notch oral healthcare to our patients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet patients upon arrival and monitor their arrival times
- Escort patients to treatment rooms
- Assist dentists during procedures by preparing treatment rooms, sterilizing instruments, passing tools and materials, organizing trays and drawers, and anticipating the needs of the dentist
- Take and develop dental X-rays according to the dentist's instructions, ensuring patient comfort and safety
- Prepare and maintain dental instruments, equipment, and supplies for use in treatments
- Provide coronal polishing and chairside assistance, anticipating the dentist's needs to ensure an efficient workflow (1 year or more required)
- Prepare and deliver dental materials such as fillings, crowns, and impressions
- Educate patients on oral hygiene techniques and post-operative care
- Schedule and manage patient appointments, maintaining accurate records of treatments and procedures
- Perform basic laboratory duties, including processing dental impressions, fabricating temporary crowns, and constructing models
- Maintain a clean and organized dental environment, adhering to infection control protocols and safety standards
- Handle administrative tasks such as managing patient records, billing, and coordinating referrals
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of a dental assisting program or relevant experience
- Proficiency in dental terminology, instruments, and procedures
- Knowledge of oral surgery, infection control protocols, and sterilization techniques
- Ability to take accurate dental X-rays and maintain digital records
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with patients and team members
- Attention to detail and organizational skills for managing records and scheduling
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and assist with patient positioning
- Familiarity with dental software and computer skills for administrative tasks
- Flexibility to work in a fast-paced environment, including evenings or weekends if required

Pay: Starting at $25.00 per hour
Expected Hours: Minimum of 40 per week
