Dental Assistant

We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic dental assistant to enhance the efficiency and atmosphere of our dental office. As a key member of our team, you'll ensure exceptional customer service and handle both administrative and basic dental tasks to support the dentist. The ideal candidate will be organized, detail-oriented, and adept at following instructions while adhering to office protocols. Your role will involve providing both direct and indirect patient care, and streamlining office procedures to ensure a smooth operation.

Responsibilities:

- Greet and welcome patients to the office

- Prepare patients for treatments or checkups with attention to their comfort

- Select, set up, and manage instruments, equipment, and materials

- Sterilize instruments in accordance with health regulations

- Assist the dentist with four-handed dentistry

- Perform lab tasks as directed

- Provide oral hygiene and post-operative care instructions

- Maintain a clean and well-stocked dental room

- Schedule patient appointments

- Keep accurate patient records and assist with payment processing

Skills and Qualifications:

- Proven experience as a dental assistant

- Knowledge of dental instruments and sterilization techniques

- Understanding of health and safety regulations

- Ability to perform non-surgical tasks, such as coronal polishing, is a plus

- Proficient computer skills

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

- Strong attention to detail

- Well-organized and reliable

- High school diploma required; completion of dental assistant school preferred

- Additional certification or training, such as EFDA, is a plus

Job Details:

- Job Type: Full-time

- Pay: $20.00 - $26.00 per hour

- Hours per week: 20-40, with weekend availability required

- Schedule: 8-hour shifts, Monday to Friday, with potential for overtime and weekend work

Experience:

- Minimum of 1 year in dental assisting required

License/Certification:

- X-Ray Certification preferred
