Certified Dental Assistant

Location: Philadelphia, PA

Quality Community Health Center, a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) serving the Philadelphia area for 41 years, is dedicated to managing the health and wellness of patients from infants to seniors. We value a collaborative approach to care, working closely with our patients to ensure their well-being. We are currently seeking a full-time Certified Dental Assistant to join our team and provide exceptional dental care to both adult and pediatric patients.

Key Responsibilities:

-Direct Dental Assistance: Assist the dentist in various dental procedures, providing high-quality care.

-Data Entry: Input patient data into our Dental Practice Management System.

-Sanitation: Maintain clean and organized operatories, sterilization rooms, labs, break rooms, and dark rooms after each patient.

-Equipment Maintenance: Oil handpieces, disinfect, and sterilize dental instruments following up-to-date protocols for HIV, HCV, COVID-19, etc.

-Radiographs: Expose, develop, and mount radiographs.

-Patient Interaction: Greet and seat patients in the operatory, prepare them for treatment, and provide oral hygiene instructions.

-Lab Work: Take patient impressions, pour casts, and perform prescribed lab work.

-Inventory Management: Monitor clinical supplies, prepare orders, and manage lab cases.

-Compliance: Prepare and mail spore tests for autoclave monthly and distribute radiation badges quarterly.

Qualifications:

- Education: High school diploma or certificate from an accredited dental assisting school.

- Certifications: PA Certification/Registration, X-Ray Certification, Dental Assistant Certification.

- Experience: Minimum of 2 years in dental assisting, with familiarity with the Dentrix software program and insurance coverages.

- Skills: Excellent communication, people skills, attention to detail, and strong organizational abilities.

Employment Details:

- Job Type: Full-time

- Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour

Schedule:

- 8-hour shifts

- Monday to Friday

- No nights or weekends

- Holidays as needed

Additional Requirements:

- Drug Testing: New hires will be subject to drug testing as part of the pre-employment process.

- Clinical Credentialing: Completion of the credentialing process, including background checks and verification of qualifications, is required.

- Vaccination: Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 by the start date; valid exemption requests will be considered. Clinical hires must also produce titers.
