
Surgical Technician- RDA Oral Surgery
Job Description
Are you passionate about delivering exceptional patient care in a surgical setting? We’re looking for a Dental Assistant to join our team and play a key role in supporting oral and maxillofacial procedures. In this role, you’ll work closely with the surgeon during consultations and surgeries, while ensuring patients receive outstanding care before, during, and after their procedures.
Key Responsibilities
Surgical & Clinical Support
Assist the surgeon during procedures by preparing and monitoring anesthesia, seating patients, and taking vitals
Ensure consent forms and treatment plans are completed and documented accurately
Maintain clinical competency in surgical assisting and emergency protocols
Patient Care
Provide thorough and compassionate pre-operative and post-operative instructions
Obtain medical clearances and ensure patients feel comfortable and informed throughout their care journey
Compliance & Safety
Follow OSHA, HIPAA, and radiation safety standards
Produce high-quality radiographic images using correct exposure and positioning techniques
Record Keeping
Accurately document patient care in compliance with clinical standards
Maintain secure and confidential patient records
Equipment Maintenance
Prepare, sterilize, and maintain instruments and surgical equipment
Ensure all tools are functioning properly before each procedure
Team Collaboration
Build strong rapport with patients, surgeons, and team members
Address conflicts professionally, contribute to problem-solving, and maintain a cooperative work environment
Patient Experience
Provide a welcoming and supportive environment for all patients
Focus on patient satisfaction and comfort during every visit
Flexibility
Take on special projects and additional tasks as needed
Adapt to changes in responsibilities or workflow with a positive and proactive attitude
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent
Basic CPR certification (required)
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities
Willingness to work in a fast-paced, surgical setting
Flexible, team-oriented, and professional demeanor
Commitment to patient privacy and safety
Preferred Qualifications:
Certification in Oral and Maxillofacial Assisting or Dental Assisting
Knowledge of surgical equipment, sterilization, and anesthesia support
Hepatitis B and TB vaccinations & titers (or willingness to obtain)
