Orthodontic Assistant - Private Practice

We are looking for a dedicated and skilled Orthodontic Assistant to join our dynamic dental team! The ideal candidate will play an essential role in providing exceptional orthodontic care, ensuring every patient enjoys a comfortable and positive experience. This position requires a strong understanding of orthodontic procedures, dental terminology, and chairside assisting techniques, along with proficiency in dental software systems.

Key Responsibilities

Assist the orthodontist during procedures using chairside and four-handed dentistry techniques.
Prepare and maintain treatment rooms, ensuring strict adherence to infection control and aseptic protocols.
Take and develop dental X-rays in accordance with safety and HIPAA guidelines.
Perform tasks related to orthodontic records, bonding, adjustments, and debonding procedures.
Manage and update patient records accurately in OpenDental.
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene and post-treatment care for orthodontic appliances.
Operate 3D scanners and support imaging for treatment planning.
Coordinate with the front desk to manage appointments and patient flow.
Maintain inventory and ensure all instruments and materials are prepared for daily operations.

Qualifications

Experience in a private practice setting preferred, especially in orthodontics or pediatric dentistry.
Proficiency with OpenDental software.
Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control, and imaging techniques.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, especially with children and families.
Certified Dental Assistant credentials preferred.
Organized, reliable, and able to thrive in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Compensation & Benefits

Pay: $20.00–$28.00 per hour
