Position Summary

We are seeking a Dental Assistant (Unlicensed) to support our dental team under the supervision of a licensed dentist. This role involves preparing patients for treatment, assisting during procedures, sterilizing instruments, and maintaining accurate records. You will be instrumental in creating a positive patient experience and ensuring the smooth operation of our dental clinic.

Position Title: Dental Assistant
Salary Range: \$45,760 – \$47,840 annually + Benefits
Employment Type: Full-time, Non-Exempt

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare patients for dental procedures, including seating, comforting, and draping
Sterilize and disinfect instruments, and prepare trays and materials for procedures
Assist the dentist chairside during various treatments
Take and record medical and dental histories, including vital signs
Educate patients on oral hygiene, plaque control, and post-operative care
Manage dental emergencies and provide post-treatment instructions
Maintain and monitor dental equipment and supplies inventory
Accurately document treatment details in patient records

Qualifications:

High School Diploma or equivalent (required)
Completion of a CODA-accredited Dental Assisting Program (required)
Dental Assistant Certificate
Current BLS Certification (required)

Experience:

1 to 3 years of dental assisting experience preferred
0 to 2.5 years of experience in both front and back-office dental settings

Skills & Abilities:

Bilingual/Biliterate in English and Spanish preferred
Strong documentation and charting skills
Excellent interpersonal and organizational abilities
Effective communication skills (written and verbal in English)
