Pediatric Dental Assistant - Private Practice

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Pediatric Dental Assistant to join our friendly and dynamic dental team. In this role, you’ll help provide high-quality care to young patients while ensuring a safe, comfortable, and positive experience for children and their families. The ideal candidate has pediatric dentistry experience, strong chairside skills, and a passion for patient education.

Pediatric Dental Assistant – Full-Time or Part-Time
Pay: $22–$28/hr | 32 hours/week | In-person

Responsibilities

Assist the dentist during exams and procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques
Prepare and maintain treatment areas following strict infection control protocols
Take and develop dental X-rays accurately
Record medical histories, vital signs, and treatment notes in OpenDental
Manage patient flow while creating a welcoming atmosphere for children and families
Educate patients and parents on oral hygiene and post-treatment care
Perform chairside assisting duties, including handling instruments and materials
Ensure all dental equipment is properly sterilized and ready for use
Maintain accurate medical documentation, including coding as required

Skills & Qualifications

Proficiency in OpenDental highly preferred
Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and infection control
Experience in pediatric dentistry and chairside assisting preferred
Ability to perform basic vital signs assessments and communicate effectively with children
Previous dental clinic experience is a plus
Commitment to quality patient care and teamwork
