General Dentist for temporary leave

We are looking for a skilled and compassionate Dentist to cover a maternity leave for approximately 8-10 weeks, starting in late May 2025. This is a fantastic opportunity to join our practice, which has served a wonderful, loyal patient base for over 40 years. Our focus is always on providing high-quality care and prioritizing patient comfort and satisfaction. After the maternity leave, this position may transition into a part-time role, if desired.

Temporary Dentist – Maternity Leave Coverage (8-10 Weeks) – Starting Late May 2025

Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive dental exams to diagnose oral health issues.
- Provide routine dental procedures, including fillings, crowns, and restorative treatments.
- Experience with dental extractions and root canals is preferred, though not required.
- Create personalized treatment plans based on individual patient needs.
- Use Open Dental software and Dexis for patient record management and documentation.
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene and preventive care.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including medical history and treatment notes.
- Collaborate with dental hygienists, assistants, and other staff to ensure smooth clinic operations.

Requirements:
- Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry (DMD) degree from an accredited institution.
- Valid state dental license to practice.
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology.
- Prior experience in a dental clinic is preferred; experience with pediatric patients is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills and a compassionate approach to patient care.
- Ability to work well in a team environment with a positive attitude.

Position Details:
- Job Type: Full-time, Part-time, Temporary
- Pay: Starting at $500 per day, negotiable based on daily rate + collections percentage
- Expected Hours: 25-30 hours per week
- Schedule: Flexible hours – Monday (9 AM - 5 PM), Tuesday (11 AM - 7 PM), Thursday (10 AM - 6 PM), Friday (8 AM - 2 PM). We are open to adjusting hours to fit your schedule.
