General Anesthesia Dental Assistant (Part-time)
Job Description

Qualifications:
- Preferred: Dental Anesthesia Assistant (DAANCE) National Certification or DAANCE eligibility.
- Ability to lead and inspire a team during sedation or anesthesia procedures.
- Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with the office team and doctors.
- Compassionate, empathetic approach to patient care, with a focus on patients and their families.
- Bilingual in Spanish/English is preferred.
- Willingness to travel within and potentially outside of the state. Travel arrangements will be coordinated by Rodeo Dental's Travel Department.
- A valid, active Driver's License is required, as this role may involve travel to various partner locations.
Essential Functions:
- Sterilize and wash re-usable equipment and report any malfunctioning equipment to the appropriate personnel.
- Perform safety checks on anesthesia equipment and assist the anesthesiologist as needed.
- Basic interpretation of ASA monitors.
- Manage the airway in the operatory and/or recovery room.
- Remove and dress ASA monitors and IV lines before patient discharge.
- Conduct pre-operative interviews, reviewing patient health history, medications, allergies, and confirming NPO status.
- Review post-operative anesthesia instructions with patients, parents, or guardians and address any questions before the patient departs.
- Connect and verify oxygen tanks and regulators from central supply, and ensure back-up E-tank oxygen cylinders are verified before the first patient of the day. Change tanks throughout the day when necessary.
- Perform intravenous line placement and clinical placement of ASA monitors such as blood pressure cuffs, pulse oximeters, temperature probes, and ECG electrodes.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged sitting and standing as needed.
- Ability to lift up to 15 lbs.
