Job Description
We are seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our fast-paced dental practice. The ideal candidate will be organized, attentive, and passionate about delivering excellent patient care. This position involves assisting the dental team with patient prep, sterilization, operatory setup, and select hygiene procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
Greet and prepare patients for treatment, ensuring comfort throughout their visit
Assist the dentist using four-handed dentistry techniques
Set up and sterilize instruments, equipment, and treatment rooms per safety standards
Take patient vital signs and gather/record medical and dental histories
Provide post-operative care instructions and support patient education on oral hygiene
Perform regulated tasks as permitted (e.g., coronal polishing)
Support lab work and processing as directed
Maintain accurate patient records and assist with appointment scheduling and payment coordination
Monitor inventory and manage dental supply ordering
Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and infection control protocols
Assist with dental or medical emergencies when required
Qualifications:
Required:
Valid dental X-ray certification
High school diploma or equivalent
Legally authorized to work in the U.S.
Proven experience as a dental assistant
Strong understanding of dental instruments, sterilization methods, and infection control
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Tech-savvy with basic computer proficiency
Well-organized, reliable, and detail-focused
Preferred:
Graduate of an accredited Dental Assisting program
Additional certifications such as EFDA or coronal polishing
1+ year of experience in a dental or healthcare setting
2–3 years of total work experience
Age 18 or older
