Job Title: Dental Assistant
Employment Type: Full-Time, Non-Exempt
Base Salary Range: \$45,760 – \$47,840 annually (plus benefits)
Location: South Central Family Health Center – Los Angeles, CA

Position Overview
Under the supervision of a licensed dentist, the Dental Assistant supports a wide range of clinical functions. You’ll help prepare patients for treatment, assist during procedures, maintain accurate records, and ensure all equipment and instruments are properly sterilized and organized.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare patients for dental treatment, including welcoming, seating, and draping
Sterilize/disinfect instruments and set up trays and materials for procedures
Assist dentist during clinical procedures and dental emergencies
Take and record medical/dental histories and vital signs
Educate patients on oral hygiene, plaque control, and post-operative care
Document treatment details accurately in patient records
Ensure proper operation and maintenance of dental equipment
Monitor and maintain inventory of dental supplies and equipment
Provide post-treatment instructions as prescribed by the dentist
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required
Completion of a CODA-accredited Dental Assisting program in the U.S.
Valid Dental Assistant Certificate
Current BLS Certification required
Experience:
1–3 years of experience as a Dental Assistant preferred
0–2.5 years of front and back office dental experience accepted
Training from an accredited dental assisting program
Skills and Abilities:
Bilingual/Biliterate in English and Spanish preferred
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Excellent charting and documentation abilities
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to multitask
Proficient in managing dental records and patient education
