Job Description
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our team. This role supports dental providers in delivering high-quality care and ensures compliance with Arizona State Dental Laws. The ideal candidate will be skilled in clinical support, sterilization, and patient communication, while also assisting with scheduling and insurance coordination.
Key Responsibilities
Perform allowable procedures under Arizona dental regulations
Assist dental providers during patient treatments using appropriate techniques and equipment
Take high-quality dental images and perform coronal polishing (if certified)
Measure and record patient vitals, including blood pressure, weight, and glucose levels
Ensure all consent forms are uploaded to patient charts and properly explained
Prepare and maintain dental trays, instruments, and treatment areas
Sterilize and monitor dental equipment and maintain inventory
Handle delivery, pickup, and communication regarding dental lab cases
Notify front office staff to schedule follow-up appointments
Contact surgical patients within 2 business days post-treatment to check on recovery
Inform dental providers and front desk when insurance pre-authorizations are required
Comply with all MPHC and government safety standards and protocols
Participate in mandatory training, meetings, and annual policy reviews
Maintain consistent and reliable in-person attendance
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent
Radiology/X-ray certification (required)
CPR certification (current)
Preferred Qualifications:
Coronal polishing certification (or willingness to obtain within 6 months)
Dental Assistant certification
