The Corporate Solutions Department at the Community College of Philadelphia is seeking part-time instructors to teach a Dental Assistant Lab course. Position Responsibilities:

- Co-teach the Dental Assistant Lab course, preparing students for the National Entry-Level Dental Assistant (NELDA) certification exam by covering key topics such as Infection Control, Anatomy, Radiation Health and Safety, and more, in line with the Dental Assistant National Board (DANB) scope of practice.

- Collaborate on teaching assigned lab skill areas, ensuring adherence to the College’s approved course syllabus and student learning outcomes.

- Use appropriate teaching strategies, technologies, and assessments to evaluate student progress and learning.

- Provide clinical support, including assisting in dental procedures, monitoring equipment, and managing clinic supplies.

- Adhere to professional and ethical standards of conduct, while ensuring a positive and supportive classroom environment.

- Address student concerns and program issues, maintaining student attendance records and managing classroom dynamics.

- Incorporate technology to enhance the learning experience and engage students effectively.

- Foster an inclusive and student-centered learning environment, taking into consideration the diverse backgrounds and learning styles of all students.

- Demonstrate a commitment to the College’s mission, vision, and values, promoting student success and retention.

Minimum Qualifications:

- Must be a Dental Assistant or a licensed Dental Hygienist with a strong background in clinical practices.

- DANB RHS Certification required.

- A minimum of 3 years of clinical experience in a dental setting, including knowledge of clinic management, patient safety, compliance, and relevant regulations.

- Strong interpersonal skills and a passion for teaching and engaging with students.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Associate degree in a related field.

- At least 3 years of experience teaching adult learners from diverse backgrounds and abilities.
