Dental Assistant
Job Description
We are looking for a friendly and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our practice. In this role, you will manage front desk operations, ensure a welcoming environment for patients, and provide vital administrative support to our dental team. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, experience with dental software, and a solid understanding of dental terminology and procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Greet and check in patients as they arrive for their appointments.
- Efficiently schedule and confirm appointments while managing the calendar.
- Maintain accurate medical records, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Address patient inquiries regarding treatment plans, insurance coverage, and payment options.
- Handle incoming calls, emails, and correspondence in a professional manner.
- Prepare treatment rooms, ensuring they are clean and fully stocked.
- Assist the dental team during procedures, including supporting four-handed dentistry.
- Record vital signs when needed and adhere to proper infection control protocols.
- Use dental software (e.g., Eaglesoft, Dentrix) for patient management and record-keeping.
- Process patient payments and maintain accurate financial records.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar role is preferred.
- Strong understanding of dental terminology and procedures is essential.
- Proficiency in dental software (Eaglesoft or Dentrix) is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of medical records management and HIPAA compliance is required.
- Basic X-Ray certification is a plus.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in managing patient records.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with patients and staff.
