We are currently seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to support our clinical team. This role requires both technical and interpersonal skills to assist the dentist, manage clinical workflows, and ensure an excellent patient experience.

Job Title: Dental Assistant (Must Reside in Los Angeles County)
Location: Allaire Dental Care – Los Angeles, CA
Job Type: Full-Time

Education & Experience Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent required
Graduation from an accredited dental assisting program OR equivalent dental assisting experience preferred
Valid California X-ray certification and current CPR certification required
Must reside in Los Angeles County

Qualifications:

Familiarity with dental terminology, procedures, and equipment
Understanding of HIPAA and HITECH Act compliance
Ability to maintain OSHA and state-specific dental practice standards
Proficient in dental software (e.g., Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or similar)
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong attention to detail and patient care
Commitment to ongoing professional development (CE courses encouraged)

Key Responsibilities:

Patient Care & Clinical Support:

Prepare operatory and assist the dentist during clinical procedures including root canals, restorations, impressions, etc.
Take and process digital X-rays and intraoral photographs
Provide patient education and post-operative instructions
Monitor patient comfort and manage flow throughout appointments
Ensure treatment notes and procedures are accurately recorded

Sterilization & Room Management:

Disinfect and prepare treatment rooms
Sterilize instruments per OSHA protocols
Maintain and organize supplies, trays, and dental units
Monitor and replenish inventory as needed

Administrative Duties (if applicable):

Greet and seat patients
Assist with scheduling, insurance verifications, and patient check-in/check-out
Help maintain patient records in compliance with privacy laws

Clinical Functions Under Dentist Supervision:

Under General Supervision:

Take extraoral photographs
Operate radiography equipment
Perform supportive procedures per California law

Under Direct Supervision:

Take impressions and bite registrations
Place/remove rubber dams and matrices
Remove sutures and periodontal dressings
Place and monitor patient sensors during sedation
Assist in the administration of nitrous oxide

Physical Requirements:

Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods
Occasionally lift/move up to 10 lbs
Visual acuity for dental work and radiography
