Job Description
Kheir Clinic, a nonprofit Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) serving underserved and uninsured communities in Southern California, is seeking a compassionate and skilled Bilingual Dental Assistant to join our dental team. This full-time position plays a key role in delivering high-quality care to our diverse patient population. Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish or English and Korean is required for this patient-facing role.
Bilingual Dental Assistant
Full-Time | Non-Exempt | Wilshire Center/Koreatown, Los Angeles
Position Summary
The Dental Assistant (DA) will provide chair-side assistance during procedures, support dentists and hygienists, maintain exam rooms and equipment, and assist with patient intake and administrative duties as needed. This role requires both clinical and front office expertise, along with a commitment to providing culturally sensitive care in a fast-paced community clinic environment.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an accredited Dental Assistant program
- Valid Dental Assistant Certificate
- Current CPR/First Aid certification
- Dental Radiation Safety Certificate
- At least 6 months of relevant dental assisting experience
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- Ability to handle sensitive patient interactions with tact and confidentiality
- Comfortable with multitasking in a clinical setting
- Bilingual: English/Spanish or English/Korean (Required)
- Experience in a community clinic setting is a plus
Key Responsibilities
- Provide chair-side support during dental procedures
- Prepare and maintain instruments, materials, and equipment
- Take digital X-rays and impressions as needed
- Oversee patient flow throughout the visit, ensuring efficiency and comfort
- Follow strict sterilization protocols per OSHA, CDC, and Kheir standards
- Support front desk operations including reception and medical records when necessary
- Maintain inventory and ensure operatory readiness
- Attend training, outreach events, and team meetings as assigned
- Comply with all clinic policies and HIPAA regulations
- Contribute to a positive and collaborative team environment
