Position Overview
The Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) plays a vital role in delivering a one-of-a-kind patient experience. This position provides direct patient care across multiple dental specialties, including orthodontics, pediatric dentistry, periodontics, endodontics, and oral surgery. RDAs work both in the Back Office and in our welcoming, high-energy lobbies—engaging, supporting, and caring for our patients every step of the way.

Schedule
This role requires a flexible schedule, including extended hours, evenings, and weekends as business needs require.
Qualifications
Active Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) license with the Texas State Board of Dental Examiners (TSBDE)
Current CPR and AED certification
Nitrous Oxide monitoring certification preferred
Annual OSHA, HIPAA, and Infection Control training
Experience with dental practice management software (Open Dental or Dentrix preferred)
Sealant, Coronal Polishing, or PALS certifications strongly preferred
Bilingual (Spanish) preferred
Essential Functions
Prioritize patient safety and team safety at all times
Maintain compliance with OSHA and Infection Control protocols, including proper disposal of sharps and clinical waste
Assist with inventory management, providing weekly inventory reports to the Lead DA
Prepare tray setups according to doctor preferences and scheduled procedures
Review patient charts and health histories prior to doctor arrival; confirm chief concerns
Take diagnostic-quality X-rays and upload them to patient records
Maintain accurate digital patient records, including health histories, insurance information, treatment plans, pre-authorizations, labs, procedures, and appointments
Educate patients and parents on the importance of oral health and preventive care
Monitor patients’ physical and emotional well-being throughout the visit
Clean, disinfect, organize, and stock exam rooms and operatories before and after each patient interaction
Update patient charts with existing treatments such as fillings, crowns, sealants, and restorations
Assist in maintaining cleanliness of common areas, including operatories, reception areas, break rooms, and restrooms
Perform other duties as assigned

Compensation & Benefits
Pay: $22.00–$26.00 per hour
