Job Expectations and Description

Summary:

As a registered dental assistant, you'll welcome patients, escort them to the exam room, and prepare them for their appointments. Your primary responsibilities will include assisting the dentist and performing all tasks within your licensed scope. Adherence to OSHA and HIPAA regulations is essential, and teamwork is crucial for delivering high-quality patient care.

Duties and Responsibilities:

- Deliver exceptional service

- Follow all Assure Dental protocols and policies

- Adhere to the Dental Practice Act

- Prepare for and assist during dental procedures

- Maintain cleanliness before each patient visit

- Ensure the operatory is stocked with necessary instruments and equipment

- Verify that all equipment is functioning properly

- Assist any doctor on staff as needed

- Provide patients with oral hygiene and post-operative care instructions

- Confirm patients have scheduled follow-up appointments before dismissal

- Keep the central sterilization area clean

- Speak English at all times, except when communicating with patients who speak another language

- Report any broken or damaged equipment to the supervisor immediately

Qualifications:

- Solid understanding of dental instruments

- Excellent customer service skills

- Ability to read and understand basic instructions and memos

- Effective verbal communication skills with both doctors and patients

- Basic math skills for handling transactions and inventory

- Professional problem-solving skills for addressing patient concerns

Education:

- A minimum of a high school diploma or GED is required.

Certificates:

- RDA License

- X-Ray License

- CPR Certification

- Ultrasonic Certificate (preferred, but not required)

- Coronal Polishing Course (preferred, but not required)

- Pit & Fissure Sealant Course (preferred, but not required)

Physical Demands:

This role requires the ability to stand, talk, and hear, with frequent walking and handling of instruments while working with patients. Reasonable accommodations can be made for individuals with disabilities.

Commute Agreement:

Employees will be assigned a home office location no more than thirty miles from their residence. Assistants may be required to float to other locations within this radius.

Job Type: Full-time  

Pay: $22.00 - $26.00 per hour  

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday  

- Weekends as needed
