Registered Dental Assistant - Pediatric Dentistry

Our expanding pediatric dental practice is looking for a compassionate and experienced Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) to join our team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about working with children, possess excellent communication skills, and be dedicated to providing high-quality patient care in a friendly and welcoming atmosphere.

Responsibilities:

- Prepare patients for dental procedures by reviewing medical histories, taking x-rays, and conducting oral examinations.

- Assist the dentist during procedures by preparing instruments, materials, and equipment.

- Monitor patients during procedures, offering support, particularly to young children and those experiencing dental anxiety.

- Educate patients and parents on proper oral hygiene practices and post-operative care instructions.

- Sterilize dental instruments and maintain a clean and organized workspace.

- Collaborate with the dental team to ensure efficient and effective patient care delivery.

Qualifications:

- Graduation from an accredited dental assisting program.

- Current registration with the California State Dental Board as a Registered Dental Assistant (RDA).

- Valid X-ray, Coronal Polishing, and Sealant Licenses.

- Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).

- One year of experience in a pediatric dental setting is preferred but not required.

- Strong knowledge of dental procedures and materials.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with children and parents.

- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
