Job Description
We’re seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to support the delivery of exceptional dental care at World Pediatric Dental. In this vital role, you’ll help prepare treatment areas, assist during procedures, and ensure every patient feels welcomed, safe, and well cared for.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare treatment rooms and patients for procedures following all safety and clinical protocols
Welcome and comfort patients to create a positive and calming experience
Assist the dentist chairside by passing instruments, managing suction, and preparing materials
Sterilize and organize instruments and treatment rooms to maintain a clean, compliant environment
Mix and place dental materials as directed by the dentist
Take and develop radiographs; pour, trim, and polish study models as needed
Support patients by fabricating temporary restorations and cleaning removable appliances
Provide oral hygiene and post-operative care instructions to patients and/or guardians
Respond calmly to dental or medical emergencies; maintain CPR certification and emergency readiness
Accurately chart treatment and services in patient records
Uphold patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and infection control policies
Monitor equipment functionality and coordinate maintenance and repairs when necessary
Track, manage, and order dental supplies to maintain efficient clinical operations
Continuously expand knowledge through workshops, continuing education, and team collaboration
Required Skills & Qualifications
Proficiency in dental health maintenance and use of dental technology
Strong understanding of infection control procedures
Effective communication and active listening skills
Ability to work well in a team and foster a safe, patient-centered environment
Experience with diagnostic tools and dental equipment
CPR certification and familiarity with emergency protocols
