Dental Assistant – Park Slope Kids Dental Care (Brooklyn, NY)
Only candidates with at least 1 year of dental assisting experience will be considered.

We’re currently seeking an experienced Dental Assistant who enjoys working with children and thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented setting.

Key Responsibilities

Patient Care
Prepare treatment rooms according to established procedures and protocols.
Welcome, comfort, seat, and prepare patients for treatment.
Assist the dentist during a variety of dental procedures.
Take and develop dental radiographs (x-rays).
Review and update patients’ medical histories.
Provide post-treatment care instructions to patients and parents.
Educate children and parents on proper oral hygiene practices (brushing, flossing, and nutrition).
Assist with the use of nitrous oxide when needed.
Perform four-handed dentistry efficiently and maintain proper chairside posture.
Fabricate temporary restorations and clean/polish removable appliances.
Be prepared to assist in dental or medical emergencies and maintain CPR certification.

Equipment & Materials Maintenance
Serve as infection control officer: sterilize instruments and maintain strict infection control standards.
Select, mix, and prepare dental materials as needed.
Protect patient privacy and confidentiality at all times.
Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

High School Diploma required
Formal Dental Assistant training preferred
Minimum 1 year of dental assisting experience required
Proficiency in Dentrix software preferred
Experience with front desk and insurance tasks a plus
Excellent communication skills and a warm, patient-friendly attitude

Position Details

Job Type: Full-Time or Part-Time
Hours:
Monday–Wednesday: 1:30 PM – 7:00 PM
Thursday–Friday: 8:30 AM – 6:00 PM
Saturday: 8:30 AM – 2:30 PM
(Flexibility required)

Compensation: $17.00 – $25.00 per hour (commensurate with experience)
Expected Hours: 20–38 per week
Location: Brooklyn, NY 11217 (in-person only; no remote work available)

Must be able to commute to or relocate to Brooklyn, NY 11217 before starting.
