Lawndale Christian Health Center is hiring: Dental Assistant in Chicago

Position Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Expanded Duties Dental Assistant to join our dental team. This role includes all the standard responsibilities of a Dental Assistant, with additional duties when scheduled as a provider. As a provider, the main responsibilities include performing coronal polishing and placing dental sealants. When not scheduled with patients, you’ll be expected to assist with general dental assistant tasks and support team operations as needed.

Job Title: Expanded Duties Dental Assistant

Hourly Rate: \$19.20 – \$21.35 (Based on experience and qualifications)
Employment Type: Full-Time

Key Responsibilities

Perform coronal polishing and apply dental sealants when scheduled as a provider
Assist dentists during a wide range of clinical procedures
Prepare exam rooms, sterilize instruments, and ensure equipment is properly maintained
Support patient care by educating them on oral hygiene and treatment follow-up
Maintain accurate and timely patient records
Collaborate with dental and clinical staff to ensure smooth clinic operations
Provide outstanding guest service and ensure a welcoming environment for all patients

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent (required)
Certification for expanded duties as a dental assistant (required)
Previous experience in a dental setting
Ability to work effectively in a multicultural, team-based environment
Strong organizational and prioritization skills
Excellent interpersonal and guest service skills
