Qualifications:

- Certification: Preferred Dental Anesthesia Assistant National Certification (DAANCE) or DAANCE eligibility

- Leadership: Ability to lead and inspire a team during sedation or anesthesia procedures

- Communication: Clear and effective communication with the office team and doctors

- Empathy: High level of empathy and compassion for patients and their families

- Bilingual: Spanish/English is preferred

- Travel: Must be willing to travel within and potentially outside the state (Travel arrangements coordinated by Rodeo Dental Travel Department)

- Driver’s License: Active, valid driver’s license required for travel to various locations

Essential Functions:

- Sterilize reusable equipment and report any malfunctions

- Conduct safety checks on anesthesia equipment and assist the anesthesiologist as needed

- Basic interpretation of ASA monitors

- Manage airways in the operatory and recovery room

- Remove and dress ASA monitors and IV lines prior to patient discharge

- Conduct pre-operative interviews with patients, discussing health history, medication, allergies, and NPO status

- Review post-operative anesthesia instructions with patients or guardians and address any questions

- Connect and verify oxygen tanks and regulators, including backup E tanks, and change tanks as needed

- Place intravenous lines and ASA monitors on patients, including blood pressure cuffs, pulse oximeters, temperature probes, and ECG electrodes

Physical Requirements:

- Prolonged sitting and standing as necessary

- Ability to lift up to 15 lbs
