Dental Hygienist

We are seeking a dedicated Dental Hygienist to join our team and contribute to our mission of promoting excellent oral health. As a Dental Hygienist, your primary responsibilities will include conducting patient screenings, performing teeth cleanings, and offering advice on oral health and preventative care. You will assist dentists in diagnosing and treating dental issues and handling emergencies. We are looking for someone who is reliable, trustworthy, and able to connect with patients of all ages. A strong understanding of health and safety protocols and keen attention to oral diseases are essential.

Responsibilities:

- Ensure patient comfort prior to and during examinations.

- Properly sterilize dental instruments.

- Conduct initial mouth screenings and review oral health history.

- Identify and assess conditions such as gingivitis, cavities, and periodontitis.

- Clean and protect patients' teeth by removing plaque and applying fluoride.

- Educate patients of all ages on proper oral care, including demonstrating effective brushing techniques.

- Provide post-procedure instructions to patients.

- Take X-rays and dental impressions as needed.

- Assist dentists in selecting appropriate treatments for dental conditions, including oral cancer.

- Maintain accurate documentation and patient charts.

- Monitor and manage dental supply levels.

Skills and Qualifications:

- Proven experience as a Dental Hygienist or in a similar role.

- In-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations (e.g., HIPAA).

- Experience in preparing and maintaining dental equipment.

- Excellent communication skills and a friendly, patient demeanor.

- Strong attention to detail and physical stamina to meet job demands.

- Diploma in Dental Hygiene; a Master’s degree is a plus.

- Valid license to practice and certification in Local Anesthesia (Required).

Job Details:

- Type: Part-time

- Pay: $45.00 - $70.00 per hour

- Expected Hours: 8 – 16 per week
