Dental Hygienist
Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Dental Hygienist to join our team, where you will play a crucial role in treating patients and promoting optimal oral health practices. As a Dental Hygienist, your responsibilities will include conducting initial patient screenings, performing teeth cleanings, and providing guidance on oral health and preventative care. You’ll also assist dentists in deciding on treatments for dental issues and managing dental emergencies. Responsibilities:
- Ensure patient comfort before examinations
- Properly sterilize dental instruments
- Conduct initial mouth screenings and review oral health history
- Identify conditions such as gingivitis, caries, or periodontitis
- Clean teeth and apply protective treatments like fluoride
- Educate patients of all ages on effective oral care, including brushing techniques
- Provide post-procedure care instructions
- Take X-rays and dental impressions
- Assist dentists in selecting appropriate treatments for various conditions, including oral cancer
- Maintain accurate patient documentation and charts
- Monitor and manage dental supplies
Skills and Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Dental Hygienist or in a similar role
- In-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations (e.g., HIPAA)
- Experience with dental equipment preparation and maintenance
- Excellent communication skills
- Patient and friendly demeanor
- Attention to detail
- Physical stamina to handle job demands
- Diploma in Dental Hygiene; a Master’s degree is a plus
- Valid license to practice
Job Details:
- Type: Full-time
- Pay: $38.00 - $51.00 per hour
- Schedule: 8-hour or 10-hour shifts
