Dental Hygienist
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Dental Hygienist to join our team and assist in promoting excellent oral health practices. As a Dental Hygienist, you will play a key role in initial patient screenings, teeth cleanings, and advising on oral health and preventive care. Your responsibilities will also include assisting dentists in treatment planning and handling dental emergencies. We are looking for someone reliable with a strong ability to build trust with patients of all ages. Responsibilities:
- Ensure patients are comfortable before their examination
- Properly sterilize dental instruments
- Conduct initial mouth screenings and review oral health histories
- Identify conditions such as gingivitis, cavities, or periodontitis
- Clean and protect patients’ teeth by removing plaque and applying fluoride
- Educate patients on proper oral care, including brushing techniques
- Provide post-procedure instructions to patients
- Take X-rays or dental impressions
- Assist dentists in selecting appropriate treatments for various dental conditions
- Maintain accurate patient documentation and charts
- Monitor and manage dental supplies
Skills:
- Proven experience as a Dental Hygienist or in a similar role
- Comprehensive knowledge of health and safety regulations (e.g., HIPAA)
- Experience in preparing and maintaining dental equipment
- Excellent communication skills
- Patient and friendly demeanor
- Attention to detail
- Physical stamina to meet the demands of the job
- Diploma in Dental Hygiene; Master’s degree is a plus
- Valid license to practice
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $49.00 - $51.00 per hour
Expected Hours: 14 – 16 hours per week
