Dental Hygienist

The Dental Hygienist performs all aspects of dental hygiene care in accordance with the treatment plans developed by attending dentists or as directed by the patients' individual care plans.

Qualifications:

Education:
- High School Diploma  
- Completion of an accredited dental hygiene program is required.

Licenses/Certifications:  
- State certification in radiology procedures is required.  
- Current registration and license to practice dental hygiene in Pennsylvania.  
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association.

Conditions of Employment:  
- Covid-19 Vaccination: Employment at Jefferson requires all employees working in clinical settings or at the University to be vaccinated against Covid-19. If you are not currently vaccinated, you must receive the vaccine before your hire date, unless an approved medical or religious exemption is provided.  
- Child Protective Services Act Requirements: As this role involves regular contact with children, candidates must meet the requirements of the Pennsylvania Child Protective Services Act, including a Pennsylvania State Police criminal background check, a child abuse clearance from the Pennsylvania Department of Welfare, and an FBI fingerprint-based federal criminal records check. The selected candidate must complete and pass all three checks before starting employment.
