Position Summary

The Dental Hygienist will play a vital role in delivering preventive dental care, educating patients on oral hygiene practices, and assisting dentists in diagnosing and treating oral health conditions. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, patient-focused, and committed to maintaining the highest standards of care and safety.

Key Responsibilities

Ensure patients feel comfortable and informed before examinations and procedures.
Sterilize and maintain dental instruments and equipment according to established protocols.
Perform initial oral health assessments and review patient medical and dental histories.
Identify and report oral health conditions, including gingivitis, dental caries, and periodontal disease.
Clean and protect patients' teeth by removing plaque and tartar and applying preventive treatments such as fluoride.
Educate patients of all ages on proper oral hygiene and preventive care techniques.
Provide post-treatment instructions and guidance following dental procedures.
Take dental X-rays and impressions as needed.
Assist dentists in developing treatment plans for various oral health conditions.
Maintain accurate patient records, charts, and documentation.
Monitor and manage clinical supplies and inventory.

Qualifications

Proven experience as a Dental Hygienist or in a similar role.
Valid Dental Hygienist license in the state of Texas.
Diploma in Dental Hygiene required; advanced degrees are a plus.
Strong knowledge of dental health and safety regulations, including HIPAA compliance.
Experience preparing, operating, and maintaining dental equipment.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to meet the physical demands of the position.
