Dental Hygienist
Job Description
Dental hygienists deliver preventive oral care under the supervision of a dentist. They are responsible for cleaning patients' teeth and examining their mouths for signs of damage, gingivitis, and other diseases. Additionally, hygienists educate patients on maintaining good oral health.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform dental hygiene services, including dental prophylaxis, scaling, fluoride treatments, sealants, and root planing.
- Conduct thorough assessments of patients' teeth, bone, and periodontal tissues, documenting any abnormalities or concerns.
- Tailor care to meet individual patient oral health needs.
- Educate patients on effective oral hygiene techniques.
- Assist the dentist with procedures and emergencies as needed.
- Maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
- Provide care in accordance with accepted professional dental practices and standards.
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited dental hygiene program.
- Registered Dental Hygienist licensure in California.
- Current CPR certification.
- 1-2 years of experience in a dental practice.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a commitment to high-quality dental care.
- Ability to adhere to safety procedures and regulations.
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, equipment, and practices.
- Proficiency in Cantonese and/or Mandarin is a plus.
Team Collaboration:
- This position reports to the Chief Dentist.
