Brooklyn Plaza Medical Center, Inc. (BPMC), a non-profit community health center in the heart of Fort Greene, Brooklyn, is looking for a full-time Dental Assistant to join our committed dental care team. For over 40 years, BPMC has provided comprehensive healthcare services to our community, including high-quality dental care. We are seeking a candidate who excels in customer service and is skilled in assisting both the General Dentist and Dental Hygienist in delivering exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

- Assist the Dentist and Hygienist during procedures, utilizing four-handed dentistry techniques.

- Ensure all necessary instruments, supplies, radiographs, charts, and models are prepared before each patient’s appointment.

- Hand instruments to the Dentist in the correct sequence to ensure efficient procedures.

- Anticipate the needs of the dental team during procedures and stay ahead of the workflow.

- Maintain a clean and sterile environment in the operatory, dental lab, and surrounding areas.

- Educate patients on proper at-home oral hygiene practices to promote long-term dental health.

- Adhere to and enforce infection control protocols.

- Keep the Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) log updated.

Qualifications:

- Completion of an accredited Dental Assistant program.

- Registered Dental Assistant certification preferred.

- Radiology and Infection Control certification required.

- 2-4 years of experience as a Dental Assistant.

- Excellent organizational and communication skills with a passion for patient care.

Schedule:

- Full-time, 8-hour shifts

- Monday to Friday, with weekend availability as needed
