
Dental Assistant Tier 1
Job Description
We are seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Dental Assistant to support the delivery of exceptional patient care. This role involves preparing treatment rooms, assisting the dentist chairside, managing instruments and materials, and maintaining compliance with clinical and safety standards. The ideal candidate is compassionate, organized, and committed to providing a positive patient experience.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare treatment rooms and patients for dental procedures, ensuring a clean and welcoming environment
Assist the dentist during exams and procedures by passing instruments, suctioning, and maintaining field visibility
Sterilize and set up dental instruments in accordance with infection control protocols
Take and develop dental X-rays; pour, trim, and polish diagnostic models
Mix and place dental materials as directed by the dentist
Fabricate temporary restorations and clean/polish removable appliances as needed
Provide patients with oral hygiene instructions, pre/post-operative care guidance, and general support
Maintain accurate patient records and document treatments
Monitor and replenish dental supply inventory; coordinate ordering and restocking
Perform basic maintenance and troubleshooting of dental equipment
Respond to dental and medical emergencies as needed; maintain CPR certification
Uphold patient confidentiality and ensure compliance with HIPAA and safety regulations
Support the dental team with various clinical and administrative tasks as needed
Qualifications & Skills
Knowledge of dental procedures, instruments, and materials
Proficiency in infection control and sterilization practices
Strong communication and patient care skills
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
Excellent attention to detail and a team-oriented attitude
CPR certification (required)
Familiarity with dental technology and diagnostic tools
Preferred Skills
Radiographic imaging and X-ray handling
Experience with dental software systems
Temporary restoration fabrication and appliance care
Knowledge of dental supply and equipment maintenance procedures
