The Dental Assistant plays a vital role in both clinical and administrative functions within the practice. This position supports the dentist during procedures, ensures treatment rooms are fully prepared, and helps create a smooth, positive experience for every patient.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare examination rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary equipment and materials are ready
Assist the dentist during procedures by anticipating needs and providing instruments
Perform routine cleanings and support complex dental treatments
Take and process dental X-rays (radiology certification required)
Maintain and update accurate patient records
Schedule patient appointments and assist with insurance billing submissions
Provide oral hygiene education and post-treatment instructions
Perform sterilization and light laboratory duties as directed
Keep treatment rooms clean, organized, and fully stocked
Select and set up appropriate instruments, equipment, and materials for procedures
Greet patients and help ensure a welcoming, professional environment

Qualifications & Skills

2+ years of chairside experience in a private dental practice (required)
Radiology certification (required)
CDA certification preferred but not required
Knowledge of dental procedures, instruments, and terminology
Experience administering dental X-rays
Understanding of health and safety regulations
Strong computer skills
Organized, reliable, and detail-oriented
Self-motivated with a commitment to excellent customer service
Bilingual skills are a plus

Education Requirements

High School diploma or GED (required)
2-year Dental Assistant degree (preferred)
