Job Description

Position Summary:

FHCSD is seeking a Dental Assistant to support the efficient operation of our Dental Department under the guidance of the Dental Clinic Coordinator or Assistant Director. In this role, you will assist the dental team while developing your skills and competencies. As a Dental Assistant, you will embody a spirit of service, providing affordable, high-quality healthcare and supportive services, especially to uninsured, low-income, and medically underserved individuals.

You thrive in a fast-paced environment, working with patients who may have chronic illnesses, and take pride in making a difference in your community. You will collaborate closely with the dental team to deliver exceptional dental care to every patient.

Responsibilities:

- Accurately document provider diagnoses and assist the front office with charts, recalls, billing, x-rays, and filing.

- Support dentists and hygienists chairside as needed, ensuring effective communication of treatment and information between patients and providers.

- Complete all required documentation in a timely and thorough manner, ensuring compliance with departmental standards and patients' insurance requirements.

- Maintain instruments and equipment, ensuring sterilization, tray setups, and unit stocking to facilitate efficient and high-quality patient care.

- Perform dental assistant duties, including instrument processing and sterilization, and take diagnostic-quality x-rays acceptable to providers and third-party payers.

- Undertake additional tasks as assigned.

Requirements:

- Certificate of completion from an accredited dental assistant program or equivalent on-the-job training.

- Current American Heart Association BLS/CPR certification.

- Dental x-ray certification.

- High school diploma or GED equivalent.

- Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred.

Pay Transparency:

The base salary for this position ranges from $20.00 to $23.90, excluding fringe benefits or potential bonuses. Final salary compensation will be based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and experience. We prioritize pay equity and consider the internal equity of our current team members in our offers.

Please note that hiring at the maximum of the salary range is uncommon to allow for future growth. We also offer a generous compensation and benefits package.
