Position: Registered Dental Assistant  

Type: Fixed-term (6 months) with potential for permanent conversion

USC’s Herman Ostrow School of Dentistry is seeking a Registered Dental Assistant to join the Department of Dental Public Health and Community Outreach Programs.

Key Responsibilities:

- Provide administrative and skilled chair-side assisting services during dental treatments for clinical faculty, dental students, and post-doctoral students in clinical units and affiliated practices.

- Work independently with moderate technical guidance.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Education: Associate's Degree

- Experience: 6 months in a dental environment

- Field of Expertise: Working knowledge of dental management systems, preferably AxiUm; bilingual in Spanish and English; excellent verbal and written communication skills; demonstrated experience in various dental disciplines.

- Skills: Working knowledge of HIPAA compliance, PPO and dental terminology, proper sterilization and instrument management techniques, and experience in a high-volume, fast-paced environment. Demonstrated team-oriented and collaborative work style.

Requirements:

- Minimum of 3 years chair-side experience in a dental environment or private practice in recognized dental disciplines (e.g., general, prosthodontics, endodontics, periodontics, oral surgery, pedodontics, orthodontics, special patients).

- Possess a current California Registered Dental Assistant License, California X-Ray Certificate, CPR Certification, and Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers Certification.

- Ability to travel to various local locations.
