Position Overview
We’re looking for a compassionate, detail-oriented Registered Dental Assistant who is also skilled in front office management. This dual-role position provides the opportunity to assist chairside during dental procedures while also ensuring the smooth operation of the front desk. It’s an ideal role for a versatile professional who excels in both clinical and administrative settings.
Responsibilities
Clinical/Chairside Duties:
- Assist the dentist during dental procedures, including preparing and cleaning treatment rooms.
- Sterilize and maintain dental instruments and equipment.
- Prepare patients for treatments, ensuring their comfort throughout.
- Take and process dental X-rays as instructed by the dentist.
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene and post-treatment care.
- Manage clinical inventory and order supplies as necessary.
Front Office Duties:
- Greet patients with a warm, friendly welcome and ensure a positive experience.
- Schedule and confirm appointments using practice management software.
- Maintain accurate and confidential patient records.
- Verify insurance benefits and address billing inquiries.
- Collect payments and manage accounts receivable.
- Respond to patient calls, emails, and other inquiries promptly.
Qualifications:
- Completion of a Dental Assisting program.
- X-ray certification.
- Knowledge of dental terminology and procedures.
- Proficiency in dental practice management software.
- Strong organizational skills and keen attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently under pressure.
Preferred Experience:
- Prior experience as a Dental Assistant or Front Office Coordinator in a dental practice.
- Familiarity with dental insurance billing and claims.
- CPR certification.
Work Environment:
- A combination of clinical and administrative tasks in a fast-paced dental office.
- Ability to stand, bend, and lift light objects as needed.
