Family Health Centers of San Diego is looking for a highly skilled and compassionate Dental Assistant to become an integral part of our team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in delivering exceptional patient care and supporting our dental team in maintaining efficiency and quality within our dental department.

Key Responsibilities:

- Assist dental providers with patient care, including charting diagnoses, preparing treatment rooms, and maintaining accurate records.

- Communicate effectively with patients and provide translation services as needed.

- Keep the work environment clean and organized, adhering to infection control standards and departmental protocols.

- Assist with instrument processing, sterilization, and equipment maintenance.

- Perform X-rays and other tasks as assigned by dental providers.

Requirements:

- Certificate of completion from an accredited dental assistant program or equivalent on-the-job training.

- Current CPR (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.

- Dental X-ray certification.

- High school diploma or GED equivalent.

- California Dental Board Dental Practice Act and Infection Control certifications are required within one year of employment.

Preferred Qualifications:

- At least one year of experience as a dental assistant.

- Bilingual in Spanish and English may be required based on assignment.
