Voted the Best Place for Working Parents™, St. David's Foundation is looking for a Dental Assistant to join its mobile Dental Program.

About the Dental Program

The St. David's Dental Program focuses on providing dental services to children at Title 1 elementary schools and various summer clinical sites across five Central Texas counties. Many of these children may not have access to dental care outside of our mobile dental vans. Our program operates five days a week, delivering care for eight hours each day. Each dental van is staffed by a dedicated team of professionals, equipped with two dental exam rooms, digital x-rays, and computer workstations, ensuring the highest quality of dental care and optimal efficiency.

Starting hourly rate: $20.67, with actual salary based on experience.

Required Qualifications

- High school diploma or equivalent.

- Currently registered Dental Assistant, licensed in Texas.

- At least 6 months of chairside experience.

- Knowledge of dental equipment, materials, procedures, terminology, and chart preparation.

- A passion for working with children and a commitment to public health.

- Strong clinical leadership skills.

- CPR, OSHA, Infection Control, and X-Ray certifications.

- Reliable transportation to travel to various work sites in the five Central Texas counties.

- Ability to work in small and tight spaces.

- Proficient in computer use, including dental software programs.

Preferred Qualifications

- Bilingual in English and Spanish or other languages commonly spoken in Central Texas.

- At least 6 months of experience as a Pediatric Dental Assistant.

- Experience in a mobile dental program.

- Sealant certification.

Physical Requirements

- Strong fine motor skills for the safe handling of dental instruments and supplies.

- Ability to walk between school and clinic locations regularly to maintain patient flow for up to four providers.
