Dental Assistant
Job Description
We are a privately-owned pediatric practice seeking a motivated and positive candidate to create a welcoming environment for our young patients. While at least one year of pediatric experience and an RDA certification are preferred, they are not required.
Office Hours:
- Monday to Friday: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Up to two Saturdays a month: 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM (If you work a Saturday, you’ll have the preceding Wednesday off.)
Responsibilities:
- Provide exceptional customer service and maintain a friendly chairside manner
- Assist the doctor with all dental procedures
- Take digital radiographs of patients
- Ensure efficient and accurate procedures to optimize the doctor's schedule and minimize patient wait times
- Maintain a clean and organized office and treatment rooms
- Review patient charts before the doctor’s arrival and log relevant data during exams and treatments
- Transcribe doctor notes in patient charts while maintaining HIPAA compliance
- Follow safety policies and procedures
- Understand dental terminology to perform your job effectively
- Verify and document patient health history, including medications and their implications for dental care
- Assist with other office duties as needed
Qualifications:
- Prior RDA experience preferred
- Recent graduates are welcome to apply
- Experience with Dentrix is a plus
- Outstanding positive attitude and demeanor
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge of company policies and procedures
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
