Gentle Dentistry, with locations in Philadelphia, Upper Darby, and Yeadon, PA, is looking for a dedicated Dental Assistant to join our team. We are offering both full-time and part-time positions. The ideal candidate will have 1-2 years of hands-on dental assisting experience and a valid X-ray license for Pennsylvania.

Job Description:

As a Dental Assistant, you will support dental care delivery by preparing treatment rooms, patients, instruments, and materials, and performing procedures in compliance with the dental practice act.

Key Responsibilities:

- Prepare treatment rooms for patient visits by following prescribed procedures and protocols.

- Prepare and comfort patients for dental treatment by welcoming them, seating them appropriately, and draping them as needed.

- Address patient and employee inquiries by providing accurate information.

- Sterilize and deliver instruments to the treatment area, position instruments for the dentist, suction, and pass instruments as required.

- Select, mix, and place materials on instruments and in the patient’s mouth.

- Fabricate temporary restorations and clean and polish removable appliances to maintain patient appearance and function.

- Manage dental and medical emergencies by maintaining CPR certification, an emergency drug and oxygen supply, and an emergency telephone directory.

- Educate patients on oral hygiene, plaque control, and postoperative care.

- Document dental care services by charting in patient records.

- Maintain patient confidentiality and protect practice operations by keeping information secure.

- Ensure a safe and clean working environment by adhering to procedures, rules, and regulations.

- Follow infection-control policies and protocols to protect patients and staff.

- Use dental resources efficiently and maintain equipment and supplies as needed.

- Stay current with professional knowledge by attending workshops, reviewing publications, and participating in professional societies.

- Contribute to team efforts by accomplishing related tasks as needed.

Requirements:

- X-ray license/certificate for the state of PA (required)

- 1-2 years of Dental Assistant experience (preferred)

Job Details:

- Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

- Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour

- Expected Hours: 35 per week

- Schedule: 8-hour shifts, Monday to Friday, with weekends as needed

- Work Location: In person, Philadelphia, PA 19139 (relocation required before starting work)
