Dental Assistant
Job Description
Dental Assistant Responsibilities:
- Prepare patients for dental procedures.
- Support infection control by sterilizing and disinfecting instruments, setting up trays, preparing materials, and assisting with procedures.
- Assist dentists with managing medical and dental emergencies as needed.
- Aid in dental procedures and coronal polishing.
- Deliver exceptional patient care and maintain detailed records of treatments.
- Expose and manage dental x-rays and maintain x-ray equipment.
- Educate patients on dental hygiene, oral health care, and plaque control.
- Collect and record medical and dental histories, including patient vital signs.
- Provide postoperative instructions as directed by the dentist.
- Maintain and care for dental equipment.
- Take preliminary impressions for study casts and occlusal registrations.
- Order and manage dental supplies and equipment inventory.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Preferred: At least 1 year of dental assisting experience.
- Self-motivated, organized, and positive attitude.
- Strong understanding of dental terminology.
- Excellent communication and written skills.
- Outstanding public relations skills.
- Ability to work well with patients and team members.
- Proven experience in delivering high-level customer service.
- Reliable, punctual, and willing to stay late if needed.
