Dental Assistant
Job Description
We're looking for a skilled and dedicated Dental Assistant to join our team. As a Dental Assistant, you'll collaborate closely with dentists and dental hygienists to deliver high-quality dental care to our patients. Your responsibilities include preparing treatment rooms, assisting during procedures, maintaining infection control standards, and ensuring smooth office operations.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations and procedures.
- Assist dentists during procedures by passing instruments, suctioning, and ensuring patient comfort.
- Take and develop dental x-rays as directed.
- Perform dental charting and update patient records using Eaglesoft or similar EMR systems.
- Provide chairside assistance, anticipating dentist's needs for efficient workflow.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-operative care.
- Sterilize instruments and equipment according to infection control guidelines.
- Manage dental supplies inventory and order as needed.
- Schedule appointments and manage the office calendar.
- Assist with front desk duties like answering calls, greeting patients, and maintaining records.
Skills:
- Dental assisting experience preferred; training provided for the right candidate.
- Proficiency in dental x-rays and medical imaging equipment operation.
- Knowledge of infection control and aseptic techniques.
- Experience with pediatric patients is advantageous.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Detail-oriented and capable of multitasking in a dynamic environment.
