Dental Assistant - Tier 3

Tier 3 Dental Assistant Job Description:

Responsibilities:

- Escort patients to the treatment area

- Measure and record patient vitals

- Take and process X-rays

- Review and update patient medical history

- Provide and review oral hygiene instructions

- Capture intraoral photos

- Document and chart patient information in the computer alongside the hygienist and doctor

- Operate and manage dental equipment (e.g., turning pumps on/off)

- Stock treatment rooms with necessary supplies

- Prepare and set up the operatory for various procedures

- Clean and break down the operatory after procedures

- Assist with treatment procedures, including sedation, nitrous oxide, and dental rehabilitation

- Mix dental materials as needed

- Operate amalgamator, activator, and applicator

- Explain treatment procedures to patients, including sealants, crowns, fillings, pulps, extractions, and dental rehab

- Provide post-operative instructions to patients

- Take and pour impressions

- Sterilize and properly store dental instruments

- Clean and maintain traps in operatory rooms

- Call in prescriptions for patients

- Perform front desk duties, including answering phones, scheduling and confirming appointments, and using copier and fax machine

Certifications Required:

- CPR Certified

- Nitrous Oxide (N2O) Certified

- Coronal Polishing Certified

- Sealant Certified
