The Dental Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting dental care delivery by preparing the treatment room, assisting the dentist during procedures, and ensuring all instruments and materials are ready and compliant with dental practice regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

- Treatment Room Preparation: Prepare treatment rooms by following established protocols and procedures.

- Patient Preparation: Welcome, comfort, seat, and drape patients to prepare them for dental treatment.

- Patient and Staff Communication: Provide information to patients and team members by addressing questions and requests.

- Instrumentation Support: Sterilize and deliver instruments to the treatment area; position instruments for easy access; assist with suctioning and instrument passing.

- Material Management: Select, mix, and place dental materials on instruments or directly in the patient's mouth as needed.

- Radiographic Support: Expose and develop radiographic studies; pour, trim, and polish study casts.

- Temporary Restorations:*Fabricate temporary restorations and clean/polish removable appliances to maintain patient appearance and function.

- Emergency Management: Assist the dentist in managing dental and medical emergencies by maintaining CPR certification, emergency supplies, and contact information.

- Patient Education: Provide oral hygiene, plaque control, and postoperative care instructions to patients.

- Documentation: Chart dental care services accurately in patient records.

- Confidentiality: Protect patient information and maintain confidentiality in all operations.

- Safety and Cleanliness: Comply with infection-control policies, maintain a clean and safe working environment, and follow all procedures and regulations.

- Equipment Maintenance: Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot issues, and manage dental equipment inventory.

- Supply Management: Monitor and manage dental supplies by checking inventory, placing orders, and verifying receipt.

- Resource Conservation: Utilize equipment and supplies efficiently to meet job requirements.

- Professional Development: Stay updated on industry knowledge by attending workshops, reading professional publications, networking, and participating in professional organizations.

- Team Contribution: Support team efforts by achieving related results as needed.
